Curtis Davis is a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta with a degree in Music Business Management and Video Production. Working as a sales specialist for high-end boutiques such as Agnes B and Kenneth Cole, Curtis worked his way up from the sales floor to in-store merchandiser doing window displays throughout New York City.
Quickly realizing his ability to work with clothing, he began taking photos of his displays. His first job was for a shoe store on Madison Avenue. Wanting to expand his career, Curtis began styling photo shoots for testing models at Karin Model Management. He began building a portfolio as a stylist and assisting working stylists in the industry.
While learning all he could from his mentors, Curtis mastered the art and illusion of fashion styling and quickly became a favorite of photographers like Howard Huang, Karen Detrick, Daniel Garriga, Haitem, Patrick Ibanez and Charlie Langella. His work has graced the covers and pages of magazines such as GLOSS, Bazaar, NY Moves, Glamur, ID, Details, Singapore Wedding and Travel and Village Voice. International campaigns include Junko Yoshioka Couture, James Moore, South Pole, Michael Antonio, African Pride, Lot 29 and Bang Bang Stores Worldwide.
While working as Senior Market Editor for KING Magazine at Harris Publications, Curtis worked with countless celebrities for covers, editorials and advertisements. Celebrities like Vivica Fox, Little Kim, Foxy Brown, La La, Christina Milian, Nick Cannon, Ice T and Joe found Curtis’ style and personality to be fashion forward and cool. As Fashion Director for CLIK Magazine, Curtis pioneered the way with his edgy fashion sensibility and cutting edge ideas making CLIK magazine the #1 SGL Men’s publication in the country.
Also on the horizon is the career of Curtis Davis, Fashion Show Producer. Designers such as James Moore, Fiona Walker, Edwing D’Angelo, Junko Yoshioka, Margie Tsai, TC Laughlin and Heike Jarick have all sought the expertise and professionalism of Curtis Davis to produce their runway show as part of Mercedes-Benz, 7th on Sixth Fashion Week in New York. Having produced over 10 shows in the tents at Bryant Park and tons more at outside venues, Curtis continues a working relationship with several design houses today.
Lately Curtis divides his time between traveling the U.S to conduct workshops and seminars on the fashion and modeling industries and also being an On-Camera host for Second Look TV where he interviews designers about their collections for fashion.
