Beginning his career as a Visual Artist, Mario Wilson worked closely with Fashion Director Linda Fargo of Bergdorf Goodman. He also decorated some of the most opulent store windows in New York City, including Hermes, Saks Fifth Avenue, Rene Lezard and Ralph Lauren. This artistry greatly influenced his vision as a Fashion Editor.
The looks of Mr. Wilson’s fashion pages have been described as “Eclectic Luxury”. These stunning fashion images have appeared in: WWD, Vogue, Vegas, Vanity Fair, Swindle, Soma, Ocean Drive, Aventura, Uptown, Highlights, Harper’s Bazaar, Genre, Flaunt, Essence, Cosmopolitan, Complot and Absolute. Mario gathers most of his innovative style from film; especially animation. He has been greatly influenced by costume designer Rita Riggs. With his bold and graphic style he has collaborated with Photographers: Daniela Federici, Torkil Gunderson, Phillippe Soloman, Carol Friedman, Tom Watson, and Naoto Ikedo.
Celebrities have become Mario’s new favorite muses; this he states is because “I love the way they transform into characters during photo sessions”. His favorite actor to style is Alan Cumming. In addition he has styled John Legend, John Leguizamo, Liza Minnelli, Mena Suvari, Naomi Campbell, Rosario Dawson, Salt & Peppa, Wyclef Jean, Yolanda Adams, Nigel Barker, Brandy, Wendy Williams and Zoe Saldana.
