Jai Williams burst onto the make-up scene while enjoying a successful international
dance career. He began in theater application, where he was employed to design, and
apply make-up for dancers in stage productions around the world. During his travels, he
was able to fine-tune his craft in television media, making up celebrities such as Jennifer
Saunders in London, Japanese television star Shingo Katori, in Tokyo, as well as America's Next
Top Model winner, Danielle Evans and hip-hop recording artist Jacki-O in New York. His initial
success as a freelance make-up artist, led him to fashion work, applying make-up for models at top
agencies including: IMG, Ford, Marilyn, and Women. Jai's professional association with
major photographers, Alexi Lubomirski, Peggy Sirota, Frederic Pinet and Keith Major
brought him further exposure in Harper's Bazaar, Essence, Flaunt and W Magazine.
Continuing to further his career, Jai was commissioned to be the Make-up artist for 3 Custom Color
Specialists spring 2008, ad campaign. He has also served as Art Director for the editorial campaigns
for many regional and national ballet companies.
Jai has a deep seated passion for make-up and the art of make-up application, while his light handed
signature style is greatly influenced by the supermodel era of the 1990's. Inspired by Kevyn Aucoin,
his goal is to create beautiful and edgy looks for women, while upholding respect and appreciation
for the industry and industry insiders. The sophisticated and seamless techniques upheld by Jai,
has motivated Iona Dunn Lee, former Fashion Editor of Essence Magazine to call his work 'flawless'.
Originally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Jai moved to Texas to study ballet at the prestigious Houston Ballet
Academy where his fundamental interest in make-up was introduced. He currently makes his home
in New York City.
