As a dedicated, licensed cosmetologist, Johnny Gonzalez has years of professional experience under his belt to support his talent in the beauty industry. It all started at a small makeup kiosk in a New Jersey mall: Johnny’s passion for beauty, creativity, and his clients began to flourish and eventually lead him to a strong foundation in his career, MAC Cosmetics. As a certified MAC makeup artist, Johnny fed his desire to learn new techniques and trends, expanding his skills and knowledge through intensive, ongoing training.
Deciding to expand his horizons and strengthen his skill set, Johnny studied at The Capri Institute where he graduated and received his State Board issued Cosmetology License.
Now distinctly experienced with hair and makeup and armed with a passion for both, Johnny began working in fast paced, high volume salons and quickly became a favorite known for his precision, understanding of clients needs and superb execution among clients and peers alike.
It’s all about the client…If the client is not happy, then neither am I! As a perfectionist I will not let anyone leave my chair who does not look and feel beautiful, period!
Living by his motto, Johnny continued with his experience while observing icons and trends in fashion, photography, and beauty. It was clear to him that he was ready to make his own mark in the world of beauty.
In 2006, Johnny made the move to New York City and began working as a freelance hair and makeup artist. Quickly gaining respect among his peers in the industry, Johnny has pushed the envelope and mastered looks from natural beauty to avant-garde and everything in between.
Today he continues to build his extensive portfolio while working with every skin and hair type on sets as well as for countless personal clients. Johnny’s work is a true representation of his ever-growing desire to show the world his unique interpretation of beauty. With his consistent drive for excellence, endless creativity and refined skills, He proudly shares his life’s passion with everyone that he has the pleasure of working with.
