Best known for his recurring role on the hit reality television series “Kimora: Life in the Fab Lane,” Christopher Michael is no stranger to creating fabulous head-to-toe looks for the world to see. He tailors his client metamorphosis to their personal needs. From over-the-top, to “au naturale,” he conceptualizes stunning camera ready looks that’s sure to turn heads. His exquisite taste and fashion sense has lent themselves to a number of celebrity clients including miss over-the-top herself Kimora Lee Simmons, as she credits Christopher for her look, “Sexy Seductress” in her acclaimed book Fabulosity. Christopher has also worked with other A-List celebrities such as: Beyonce, Tyra Banks, Naomi Campbell, Alicia Silverstone, Bernadette Peters, Tiffany Thiessan, Jane Lauder, Kevin Spacey, Russell Simmons, Dr. Oz, Djimon Honsou and the late Heath Ledger.
Born in Norfolk, VA and raised in Cleveland, OH, Christopher’s fascination with fashion and beauty began at a young age. As a child, he preferred leafing through the pages of fashion magazines as opposed to the kid friendly Dr. Seuss books. This passion followed him to his college years where he learned the fundamentals of makeup application at Cleveland State University. Eager to put his talents to work, he relocated to the fashion capital, better known as New York City, to pursue a career in makeup and image styling.
Unafraid to “step outside of the box,” Christopher branched out his stylistic creativity with interior decorating, wedding coordinating, and TV hosting. He has appeared on numerous television shows including but not limited to, the “Tyra Banks Show,” “Germany’s Next Top Model,” Oxygen’s “House of Glam” and “Insider.” He has also worked with noted fashion publications such as: Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, In Style, Hamptons, LA Confidential, Glamour, People, Italian Vogue, Elle, W Magazine, and Vanity Fair and still feels enthusiastic when he sees his published work. One of his most memorable achievements includes his involvement in the very first Baby Phat advertising campaign. He also did consultation work with Origins Cosmetics and served as Lead Artist, creating the “look” for Vivienne Tam’s Fall 2011 Yoga Collection. In addition, Christopher has worked with some of the world’s most prestigious photographers, which include: David La Chapelle, Annie Lebowitz, Ellen Von Unwerth, Patrick Demarchelier, Kwaku Alston, Peter Lindberg, Peter Beard, and Karl Lagerfeld who praised his work during a Harper’s Bazaar photo shoot saying, “this man is fabulous, listen to him, he knows what he’s talking about.”
Today Christopher resides in Manhattan, NY with his pug, Dolce Von Michael. Mastering his craft, he consistently practices new and innovative ways to transform a fashion faux pas into a runway “glamazon.” While trail blazing the fashion industry, he is a self-motivated philanthropist lending a helping hand to various female driven charities. His involvement with Princess for a Day, Project Sunshine and Dress for Success encourages self-growth, awareness of female prone diseases, woman empowerment and self-love. “I am pro women’s empowerment and understand the importance of maintaining high self esteem,” says Christopher. “So when these women are looking good and feeling good, they go out into the world with the confidence that they can do their very best!” Beauty equals confidence and confidence produces positive results.
When it comes to image transformation, Christopher Michael lives by the phrase, “When you look better, you feel better and when you feel better, you do better!” Simplistic enough Christopher is the definition of stylistic transformation, traveling the world honing in on this mantra, doing what he loves and making the world a more beautiful one, one face at a time.
